A new case of dementia is diagnosed every 4 seconds
The world health organizaiton claims, "the total number of new cases of dementia each year worldwide is nearly 7.7 million, implying 1 new case every 4 seconds. Belmont Village Senior Living hosted a fabulous event on Thursday, July 13 2017. Summerfest was complete with summer themed drinks and tasty treats. Evening filled with networking with people in the community while raising money for Kentuckiana Stroke Association.

Early Stage Series: to enhance the lives of individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.
The Greater Kentucky and Southern Indiana Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association offers a free 8 week series for person’s diagnosed with Early Stage memory loss and their care partners. This eight week series is a short-term guided support group environment comprised of diagnosed persons in the early stages of the disease and their care partners. It is designed to provide support, encouragement and education to participants. The support group will provide a safe place with opportunities to discuss issues and changes related to memory loss.
The Goals of the program are to:
· Help participants develop coping methods
· Encourage caregivers to maintain their personal, physical and emotional health
· Opportunities to engage in socially and culturally enriching activities with others who are experiencing memory loss
