Here are three ideas for short activities that you can do with your loved one who maybe struggling with memory loss.
This hit more than one of the senses stimulated various parts of the brain and psyche. You are providing your loved one with needed physical touch, interaction, moisture, self care, and relaxation .
This can give them the self care they need while also bringing up memories of when you were younger and they would care for you in the same loving way. Asking them if possible to brush or style your hair also can be giving them a sense of purpose.
Memory loss often effect the short term memories first. Singing a nursery rhyme can bring up "old" memories. It could be memories of when they sang to their grandchild, you, or when their parents sang to them. No matter the stage singing is often a great way to spark the life in to those fleeting days of struggling with memory loss.
